About Us

New Hope Pet Adoption Services (NHPAS) is a Virginia 501C3 organization that offers an alternative approach to traditional shelters or rescue. Instead of asking "is this the right home for this dog" we take a human-centric approach by asking "is this the ideal companion for this family."

 

Our efforts are designed to: provide safe companions for dog lovers to enjoy, ensure an ideal match for both dog and family, minimize surrender and return rates, all while providing education, guidance, and support!

 

Each NHPAS is under the care of one of our dedicated fosters, who train and assess each dog under the guidance of our certified dog trainer and behaviorist. Dogs  attend regular classes, learn communication skills, basic manners, and develop social etiquette to prepare them for their new life! This allows us to provide an already trained companion to potential adopters and ensure a successful transition to their permanent home. 

 

Adopters then spend one month in training to learn more and continue their pups education. This helps ensure owners feel confident in handling skills and a smooth transition at home. We aim to provide matches that are about quality not quantity! 

 

In addition to providing adoption services, New Hope PAS also provides community outreach and educational seminars for public awareness.
